The Laboratory of Veterinary Genetics offers a variety of DNA based tests for the diagnosis of genetic diseases in large and small animals of veterinary interest. With a simple DNA test, it is possible to determine if your animal is a carrier for a specific genetic mutation. This provides information for medical decisions and to prevent transmission of mutations to future generations.

As part of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Montreal, our mandate is to provide diagnostic services for genetic diseases in domesticated animals, to act as a resource for educational purposes and to facilitate research projects involving genetic diseases in domesticated animals.

All results are accompanied with a certificate of analysis and (if applicable) a DNA sequencing profile.  Labgenvet is responsible for the laboratory analysis of the samples received. Labgenvet cannot be held responsible for the sampling procedure nor for the authenticity of the information provided.

Payment is via major credit card (VISA, Mastercard, American Express).  Please include credit card information with your samples and submission forms.
