For over 10 years, the Laboratory of Veterinary Genetics has been offering a variety of DNA based tests for the diagnosis of genetic diseases in large and small animals of veterinary interest. With a simple DNA test, it is possible to determine if your animal is a carrier for a specific genetic mutation. This provides information for medical decisions and to prevent transmission of mutations to future generations.
As part of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Montreal, our mandate is to provide diagnostic services for genetic diseases in domesticated animals, to act as a resource for educational purposes and to facilitate research projects involving genetic diseases in domesticated animals.
